David and Mary Royce of Niantic are proud to announce the engagement of their daughter, Melissa, to Billy Yuhas, son of William and Barbara Yuhas of East Lyme.

Melissa and Billy are graduates of East Lyme High School, 2002 and 1998 respectively, and the University of Connecticut. Melissa earned a degree in human development and family studies and works for Connecticut Parent Advocacy Center and the Coast Guard Academy Alumni Association. Billy holds a degree in business administration and a master's degree in education. He is a business teacher at Stonington High School.

An August 2012 wedding is planned.
